John Bruce served as sergeant in Capt. Joseph Smith's company, Col. James Barrett's regiment, which marched at the
Lexington Alarm from Sudbury. He was born at Woburn, Mass., 1720, and died at Fitzwilliam, N. H., 1779.
Consider Wood turned out at the age of sixteen from Middlebury at the Rhode Island Alarm, 1776, in Capt.
Nehemiah Allen's company, Col. Jeremiah Hall's regiment. He enlisted in the Continental Line, 1777, for three years.
He was at the battle of Bemis Heights and in the Burgoyne campaign until the surrender.
Ichabod Shaw enlisted, 1775, in the New Hampshire Line in Capt. Henry Elkins' company, Col. Enoch Poor's regiment. He was born at Norton, Mass., 1733.
